The MACH4000 devices are designed for the special requirements of industrial automation. They meet the relevant industry standards, provide very high operational reliability even under extreme conditions, and also long-term reliability and flexibility. The power is supplied by an AC or DC power unit at the back of the device, or it is supplied redundantly via a power unit chassis with up to three hot-swappable plug-in power units. The switches and the power unit chassis are suitable for mounting in the 19" rack.
The device allows you to set up switched industrial Ethernet networks that conform to the IEEE 802.3 standard using copper wires or optical fibers in a line or ring structure. You can connect terminal devices and other infrastructure components via twisted pair cables, multi-mode F/O and single-mode F/O. The twisted pair ports support auto-crossing, auto-negotiation and auto-polarity.
Depending on the software you choose, the devices provide you with a large range of functions:
Redundancy Functions (RSTP, MRP, HIPER-Ring, Redundant Coupling, Link Aggregation)
