Magnum 12KX Managed Ethernet Switches

The Magnum 12KX is the first Gigabit-only switch with 16 combo ports for copper and/or fiber ports and optional Layer 3 switching software. The Magnum 12KX Gigabit Managed Switch, with advanced bandwidth capacity, is a workhorse backbone switch with applications in power utilities, surveillance and security, transportation, and heavy industry. With Layer 3 switching capability, based on high-performance routing using Layer 3 addressing information, the 12KX will rapidly route large amounts of data in applications using complex networking techniques such as VLANs or multicast routing strategies.

The devices provide you with a large range of features:

Hardened backbone switch for Smart Grid substations or physical security multi-cast networks
Gigabit Ethernet switch, 16 RJ45 + SFP fiber "combo" ports
Substation hardened, with IEEE 1588 Timing on all ports
Layer 2 or Layer 3 software, MNS-12KX
4 802.3af PoE ports (optional)
Dual or single internal power supplies
Hardened to substation EMI/ESD specs and -40° to +85° C with no fans
Low power consumption (28 watts max) for efficient operation
IEEE 1588v2 or IEEE 1588v1 support in MNS-12KS Management Software
Interoperable with Magnum 10KT for IEEE 1588v2 time synchronization
IEEE 1613 and IEC 61850 Environmental Standards for Substation Automation Products
MNS-12KX Software available in both GUI and CLI user interfaces
Redundancy features include RSTP-2004 for fast recovery from faults
Layer 3 software with OSPF provides fast recovery for routed networks
IGMP v1, v2 and v3 interoperate where L3 router or switch is available
GVRP transmits VLAN information and eases configuration for VLANs across a network
4 queues (8 levels) of QoS provide pre-emptive scheduling for video surveillance and VoIP devices
LACP offers parallel links to aggregate throughput in special cases
RADIUS support for security
PIM - Dense and Sparse Mode
Optional conformal coating for outdoor application
