| | APPLICATION: For temperature monitoring and control in Steel and Aluminum Mills, Pulp and Paper Mills, Automobile Plants, Petroleum Refineries, Chemical Plants, Material Processing Plants, Food Processing, Mining and Utilities. “328” Series Thermocouple Grade Wire — Highly accurate thermocouple wire for use in critical environments. Various types of insulations and jackets allow these constructions to be used in a wide variety of environmental conditions. Typically duplex (parallel) construction. “327” Series Thermocouple Extension Wire — Provides an economical way of extending temperature measurement for long distances. Thermocouple extension wire comes in a wide variety of constructions. It can be stranded or solid, armored or shielded depending on the environmental conditions encountered. May be UL Listed as Type PLTC. TYPE J: Can be used in inert, vacuum, reducing, or oxidizing atmospheres. Iron conductor may rust in moist or low-temperature applications. TYPE K: Used in inert or oxidizing atmosphere. Used in 1,500 to 1,800°F range where subjected to reducing or alternately reducing and oxidizing atmospheres which can impair lifespan. Accuracy below 900°F is greatly reduced after prolonged use above 1,400°F. TYPE T: Commonly used for temperatures to 700°F as well as cryogenic applications. Can be used in oxidizing, reducing, inert and vacuum atmospheres. TYPE E: Type E wires are not subject to corrosion at sub-zero temperatures. They can be used in inert, oxidizing, or reducing atmospheres. Because they cover a wide temperature range with a single calibration curve, Type E calibration is preferred for computer applications. |
