Further Details

RS-232 is the most common serial interface in use today. This means you can use your SHM–B in thousands of RS-232 installations—industrial applications; security systems; UNIX®, DEC™, and HP® workstation connectivity; and more.

Use our 2-Wire SHM–B model to transmit data up to 2 miles (3.2 km). It is made especially for your existing 2-wire cabling. You save money because you don’t have to run new wire. To troubleshoot, run loopback tests from the front panel.

NOTE: SHM–B Async Modems must be used in pairs.
