Break the RS-232 distance barrier with the BLACK BOX® Async Short-Haul Modem-B Plus. You can use it a number of different ways: in industrial applications, security systems, UNIX®, DEC™, HP® workstations, and more.

Speed/distance choices include sending and receiving serial data at 115.2 kbps up to 0.8 miles (1.2 km), at 9600 bps up to 2 miles (3.2 km), or at 2400 bps up to 4 miles (6.4 km).

Faster speeds aren’t the only advantage to the ME800A-PLUS-R2. It also features built-in optical isolation and a sturdy plastic case.

Each unit has data-status LEDs to indicate transmit and receive activity and correct cabling.

The Async Short-Haul Modem-B Plus has an RJ-11 connector and terminal block, and for easy power connnections, it comes with a quick-connect wallmount AC power supply.

It also has external DTE/DCE and flow control switches—that means you never have to open the case. To save you money, it even comes with its own cables!
