    Quick Facts

    • RapidRun is the easiest modular cabling system to install and change. Just pull the cable once and snap on different connectors when your equipment changes.
    • Guaranteed for life!

    Further Details

    • Hundreds of configurations make RapidRun™ ideal for a broad range of applications.
    • Pull the Runner cable once and make easy Break-Away flying lead or wallplate connections on each end.
    • Need to upgrade equipment? Just change the Break-Aways.
    • No tools, training, splicing, or soldering required.
    • Transmit audio and video signals—including UXGA, Component, and S-Video—over a single cable.
    • Pin pitch and insulator material make the connectors virtually transparent to video signals.
    • Pulling caps prevent bent pins and protect connectors from dirt and dust.
    • Durable Runner cables withstand up to 30 pounds/foot of pulling tension.
    • Connectors are small enough to fit through a 3/4" conduit with a 90° sweep.
    • Feature 100% EMI/RFI shielding.
    • CL2-rated PVC for residential use; CMP-rated plenum for commercial applications.
      Modular connectivity.
RapidRun is the most complete modular audio/video cabling system ever. It’s designed to save installation time, easily accomodate changes, and provide the reliability of factory terminations in the field.

The genius of RapidRun starts with the Runner, the only cable you need to pull through the walls or conduit. Each Runner cable is composed of multiple coax and/or twisted-pair cables to carry multiple signal types, such as VGA, Composite video, S-Video, and Component video. Choose the one that matches your application and the signals you need to carry.

Then terminate your Runner cable with preconfigured Break-Aways, either flying leads or wallplates. You’ll need one for each end of your Runner cable. Use flying leads when the Runner terminates directly to the back of the equipment. Use a wallplate when the connection will be visible. When you’re ready to update your system or add different equpiment, just use new flying leads or wallplates. It’s that easy!

      RapidRun is ideal for:

    • Classrooms
    • Conference rooms
    • Home theaters
    • Hospitality venues
    • Auditoriums
    • Healthcare facilities
    • Trade shows
    • Houses of worship
    • Airports/transportation hubs
    • Recreational vehicles and boats
    • Restaurants and retail stores
    • All digital signal applications

      Simplicity and speed.
The convenience of the RapidRun modular audiovisual cabling system starts with the Runner. This bundled, primary cable carries multiple conductors and multiple signal types—including stereo or digital audio and UXGA, Component, or S-Video. (To see the Runner configurations, select Diagrams.)

The color-coded Runners are used with the color-coded Break-Away flying leads or wallplates. You don’t need to worry about complex terminations. Just match the flying lead or wallplate to the cable, align the red guide arrows, and tighten the connection with the locking ring.

Terminations are fast, too. Once you install the Runner and attach the Break-Aways, you’re done—usually in less than a minute! If you’re going to upgrade your system, the cable you’ve already installed can stay right where it is; all you need is a different Break-Away.

New Integrated Flying Leads and Wallplates
To make connections easier, new flying leads and wallplates combine connections for multiple signals: UXGA, 3.5-mm stereo audio, S-Video, Composite Video, and more. In addition, some wallplates feature keystone openings for network connections. Our GigaTrue®2 and GigaBase®2 jacks fit these openings. These new plates and flying leads give you the ability to pre-install different AV and network connections. Then you’re ready to connect your PCs and all types of AV equipment.

      Integrity.
Another key to this easy-to-use cabling system is in the design of the patent-pending Multiuse Versatile Interconnect™ (MUVI™) connectors. The connections have 19 precisely machined pins in their shells, and they’re secured with a knurled connector, making the link between connector and cable as transparent as possible. This design enables you to send video and audio signals to Runner cable-to-Break-Away junctions with little or no signal loss.

      Durability.
This system was designed with durability in mind. The Runner cables feature end caps with pulling eyes to protect the pins from dirt and dust. They withstand a remarkable 30 pounds/foot of pulling tension, making them tough enough for even the roughest installations. They will even pass through 90º sweeps. (Note that sweeps bent in the field may result in a narrowed conduit diameter, a “flattened” sweep. For an easy work-around, visit rapidrun.com.)

The Runners are terminated with female connectors, and the wallplates and flying leads have recessed male connectors, both of which provide the contacts with even more protection, particularly in pulling applications. They’re constructed of CL2 rated PVC for residential applications or rugged CMP-rated plenum for commercial applications.

      Easy color coding.
To ensure quick and easy connections, RapidRun Runners are color coded so you can match your cable Runner to the right flying lead or wallplate, depending on your application. (To see an illustration, select Diagrams.)

Use a yellow PC/Video Runner Cable with a yellow PC/Video flying lead or wallplate for UXGA video (includes VGA, SVGA, XGA, and SXGA) and stereo audio.

Use a blue Multimedia Runner Cable with a blue flying lead or wallplate for Component, S-Video or Composite video and digital audio.

Use a yellow PC/Video Runner or blue Multimedia Runner cable with a green flying lead or wallplate for UXGA, Component, S-Video or Composite Video and stereo audio.
